Many Chinese Malaysians voted for the DAP (an opposition party symbolized by the rocket), however, after the opposition's victorious political tsunami over Malaysia, we got this:
The Chief Minister of Perak, should have been someone from DAP (rocket), which has a majority of 18 state assemblyman, but instead, we get one from PAS (symbolized by the moon). What the heck was DAP doing? How could they embrace the requirement for a Malay Muslim Chief Minister? What does race and religion have to do with this??? We should not discriminate on race and/or religion!!!

Its still too early to say if this is a bad thing or not.
The only danger is midway, PAS gets courted by BN.
Perhaps to the Azlan Shah, the PAS candidate is better than both singe he passed on the Malay PKR candidate as well. Azlan Shah is one of the more secular of the Sultans, so there may have been a good reason why he made that decision.
The menteri besar will still have to follow the directives of the Opposition be it from DAP, PAS or PKR....in which should follow the directives of the people.
Although I understand the situation, I think Kit Siang's reaction was a bit uncalled for. He has to also remember a lot of Muslim voted for DAP where it contested against BN.
JC
TK,
I can see that you are upset but we must understand that in Perak the MB is restricted to Malay (required by Perlembagaan)and although the Sultan has the power to appoint none-Malay, the chances is almost nil.
But if we think again, does the MB post is so significant while we have 2 Deputy as well (New post).
I doubt PAS will try anything extream in Perak as the people may not be able to accept them, and this will affect the opposition greatly.
Chill out bro and lets take a long good look on what these guys can cook up in 4 years.
JC & Vince,
Guys, don't get me wrong, while I respect all religions, I find it puzzling to have both race and religion requirements for the appointment of the chief minister.
We should discriminate on abilities, not race nor religion. Period.
TK for CM... Then we'll get more track around Northern M'sia. Not to mention a ruling that "tourists" have to give way to touge-goers on the Cameron :)
LOL :P !!!
well this case oso had been discussing among my frens...oso kinda curious...but as vince say..yea..by constitution must malay..but can overrule tat...bt kinda hard,as i think there r 9 king in malaysia?(soli dun quite nw history and my general knowledge very shallow)...well the only prob is tat...why pas?why nt keadilan?(actually i had heard abt their academic qualification prob lar)...so basically..nw wat had been done is done...the more they quarrel the less stuff they can do...hope they can quickly get over it and show tat we are right for choosing them and hope they r nt the 2nd BN....
take a look at penang...nw oledi start working ady....hope they can get over it quickly...
Apparently the Sultan was pissed off at the three stooges. His excellency has allegedly postponed the appointment indefinitely...
